a cura di Domenico Scudero
inaugurazione 1 aprile 2004 ore 18:00
diapositive, materiali stampati sottratti all'anonimato della cronaca

Exhibition openinig: April, 1 th 2004-03-09
On april the first at 6 o'clock p.m. in the high hall of MLAC will be
inaugurated the Urs Breitenstein's exhibition which is the part of the
Praxis cycle and that is curated by Domenico Scudero. Urs Breitenstein
is an artist who lives Frankfort, he proposes a complex installation
focused on the immediate present through the use of the projections
of slides, printed materials taken away from the new's anonymity and
everyday life's symbols.
Urs Breitenstein's work focuses its attention on the individual relationships
towards the comunicative symbols, that have always to embody a precise
meaning through the use of the synthesis and the clarity. Breitenstein's
interest towards the contemporary comunication is based not only on
the technique of meaning's transmission but even on their complex translating
as it would like to find out a new alphabet with which to code a language
of universal images. In occasion of the installation at the MLAC, Breitenstein
has ideated a setting up composed by four sources of slides' projections
and slide carousels. These sources of light will project their images
on the installation's wall which will be covered by news paper and magazine's
sheets.
The exhibition is realized according to the program of the MLAC's "Praxis"cycle
